Rising dengue cases across the Asia-Pacific region continue to outpace the funding required for effective prevention and control. To address this growing challenge, member economies launched a collaborative platform aimed at coordinating regional investments. This initiative brings together donors, health experts, and major development banks to share financial insights and reduce investment risks in vector-borne disease management.
Understanding the regional financing landscape remains critical, as total spending on dengue control has historically stayed largely unknown. Rather than reacting solely during emergency outbreaks, coordinated efforts focus on long-term preparedness, vector control, disease surveillance, and community engagement. By aligning financial strategies with technical expertise, participating partners aim to build resilient health systems that protect vulnerable populations before health crises emerge.
Cross-border cooperation provides a structured path toward eliminating dengue-related deaths over the next five years. Multilateral financial partnerships help bridge existing funding gaps, making preventive technologies and health resources more accessible. Strengthening these joint investment mechanisms ensures sustainable, regional protection against vector-borne threats.
